Companion Information
Hospital policies that companions must adhere to during your treatment process.
At Lotus Hospital, we recognize the importance of psychosocial support during treatment. While companions play a vital role in the patient's recovery, compliance with the following rules is mandatory to maintain patient safety and service quality.
General Rules & Rights
- With the exception of ICU, inpatients have the right to one (1) companion, provided there are no medical contraindications.
- Whether a companion is needed is determined by the attending physician.
- Companions are deemed to have accepted hospital rules. Non-compliance may result in revocation of companion privileges.
- Companions are provided complimentary breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Patient Care Guidelines
- No procedures or medical interventions should be performed on the patient without the knowledge and approval of medical staff.
- Any unexpected change in the patient's condition must be immediately reported to the ward nurse.
- Companions must leave the room during rounds, dressings, and medical procedures, respecting patient privacy.
- Medical devices connected to the patient must never be tampered with. Staff should be called in case of alarms.
- Outside food or drink should not be given to the patient without doctor or dietitian approval.
Room & Order Rules
- Patient room doors must not be locked from the inside.
- Loud conversation and corridor noise are not permitted.
- Companions must not use empty beds belonging to other patients.
- Personal belongings must be kept organized in closets and rooms must be kept clean.
- Tobacco & Alcohol Prohibited: The use of tobacco products and alcohol throughout the hospital is strictly prohibited by law and subject to legal penalties.
